Dell is kicking off its Latitude 9000 series launch along with debuting redesigned Latitude 7000 models
Initially unveiled in January at CES, Dell’s big expansion of its Latitude business notebook line officially launches today.
Dell on Tuesday announced the rollout of the Latitude 9000 “ultra-premium” notebook series, representing an expansion beyond the Latitude 7000 premium series as well as the Latitude 5000 and 3000 notebook lines.
Dell also introduced new redesigned models in its Latitude 7000 series, including clamshell notebooks, convertible notebooks and a detachable tablet.
What follows are five key things to know about Dell’s new Latitude 9000 and 7000 devices.
Latitude 9510
Offered in both clamshell and 2-in-1 models, the Latitude 9510 includes a 15-inch display with FHD resolution and slim bezels around the “InfinityEdge” screen.
Dell is touting the Latitude 9510 as the “the world’s smallest and lightest ultra-premium business 15-inch PC.” The clamshell version has a starting weight of 3.1 pounds, while the convertible model starts at 3.3 pounds. The body of the notebook features a brushed aluminum chassis along with diamond cut edges.
On battery life, the notebook is seeking to stand out with up to an estimated 34 hours of battery life available on a charge (with an optional six-cell, 88 WHr battery).
For the notebook’s performance, Dell will offer up to 10th-generation Intel Core processors along with up to 16 GB of RAM. And on connectivity, the Latitude 9510 2-in-1 model will support 5G as of July, with the device configurable with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon X55 Global 5G Modem.
Dell is emphasizing the use of artificial intelligence with the Latitude 9510, calling the notebook the “most intelligent 15-inch PC with built-in AI.” Key AI-powered features include ExpressResponse, which assesses user preferences and taps machine learning to more quickly launch frequently used applications while also boosting application performance overall.
Another key capability is ExpressCharge, which aids utilization of battery life with AI and machine learning by determining a user’s usage patterns and bringing subtle adjustments (such as screen dimming) when the battery is low.
The Latitude 9510 is available today for a starting price of $1,899.
Latitude 9410
Dell’s Latitude 9410 offers many of the same features as the 9510 but in a smaller size–and only as a convertible. The 9410 includes a 14-inch FHD touch screen with up to 300 nits of brightness, a starting weight of 3 pounds and a machined aluminum body with diamond cut edges.
Dell is calling the Latitude 9410 the “smallest 14-inch business 2-in-1” thanks to its compact form factor, made possible in part through minimal bezels around the display; the notebook sports the “narrowest screen borders in its class,” according to the company.
Battery life reaches up to 27 hours on a charge, with a 78 WHr battery, Dell said.
Processor and RAM options mirror those of the Latitude 9510, while the Latitude 9410 also includes AI-driven capabilities such as ExpressResponse and ExpressCharge.
The Latitude 9410 is available today for a starting price of $1,799.
Latitude 7410
For the Latitude 7410, Dell is offering options between clamshell and convertible models, as well as between carbon fiber or aluminum exteriors.
The 7410 also offers an option not available on the higher-end 9000 series models, with the ability to get 4K/UHD resolution on the 14-inch display of the clamshell model. The UHD model also includes a low blue light screen. FHD resolution is the other option on the clamshell, while the convertible model comes with a 14-inch FHD display by default.
Security options for the 7410 include the SafeScreen privacy filter and a webcam shutter.
Dell is also touting slim bezels around the display on the Latitude 7410, which helps to make the notebook “the world’s smallest 14-inch premium business laptop,” the company said.
Other key capabilities include ExpressCharge, ExpressResponse and up to 10th-gen Intel Core processors.
The Latitude 7410 is available today for a starting price of $1,499.
Latitude 7310
Dell’s Latitude 7310 includes all of the main features of the Latitude 7410, but with a smaller display size (and no options for 4K/UHD resolution). The Latitude 7310 features a 13.3-inch FHD display and is available in both clamshell and convertible versions, as well as with either carbon fiber or aluminum bodies.
Otherwise, the key features are the same–including options for 10th-gen Intel Core processors, a slim-bezel design (the 7310 is the “smallest 13-inch premium business laptop,” Dell says), an optional SafeScreen display and AI capabilities (such as ExpressCharge and ExpressResponse).
The Latitude 7310 is available today for a starting price of $1,499.
Latitude 7210 2-in-1
Dell is launching a new detachable tablet in its updated Latitude 7000 lineup, with the Latitude 7210 2-in-1.
The Windows 10 tablet includes a 12.3-inch FHD display with a kickstand, which attaches to a folio keyboard that sports a brushed aluminum palm rest.
The Latitude 7210 2-in-1 also shares some of the key features of the new Latitude notebooks such as ExpressResponse, ExpressCharge and up to 10th-gen Intel Core processors.
The Latitude 7210 2-in-1 is available today for a starting price of $999.
